I am an astrophysicist and contemporary dance choreographer, with a passion for food and cooking.
I stay in the yoga house and take part in morning practice as well as in the organisation of the retreat week, and looking after and entertaining of YOGA HOLIDAY FRANCE guests. I am happy to hear suggestions, recommendations and requests, and will try my best to accommodate them.
I talk to the yoga holiday-makers about the ingredients that I use, how and why I use them. I would be very happy if they introduce me to their own favourite ingredients and ways.
I like the process of using one’s senses, and one’s personal history as an inspiration for cooking, and for experimenting with flavours. This process is about how to create a recipe each time you cook. In this way, every dish becomes a story, maybe a performance, or a miniature universe liberated from dimensional constraints by our imagination. Cooking becomes live composition in the theatre of the kitchen!
Thinking about the process relieves me from the pressure of following a procedure. It also means the ingredients can be anything that is at hand, things that I am familiar with, or that I want to play with. And like playing a game, cooking has a beginning, a middle and an end. It is project-based. I like that!
